Homebuilder's expos have become a great way for consumers to meet potential contractors and home furnishing retailers.
From Tree to Cabinet in a Week
The Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter recently ran an article discussing the events leading up to a major homebuilder's Expo on Northeast Wisconsin. They interviewed a carpentry company that had created a kitchen from scratch in approximately five days to display on the convention floor. The fully customized kitchen cabinets had been raw wood less than a week before the event.
Kitchen Cabinet Refacing Introduced
Homebuilders are willing to go through this type of stress to create a visual for customers that will hopefully bring them more contracts. Other contractors attend these expos to teach the public about new techniques that are being used for home improvement projects. For example, some contractors will bring in pictures or samples of kitchen cabinet refacing. Kitchen cabinet refacing is a process that makes older kitchen cabinets look new by affixing a high quality veneer to old cabinet surfaces.
Cabinet Refacing Starting to Gain Steam
Cabinet refacing is a technique that many people don't know about. This is a shame, because kitchen cabinet refacing is much cheaper than buying entirely new cabinets, and the results can really look great, even to a discerning eye. Many contractors who typically install new kitchens have learned how to reface kitchen cabinets and offer these new services as an alternative to more expensive options.
