Other reasons to consider a remodeling project if you have kids include increased space for food preparation, eliminating sharp countertop corners, and having a child-accessible access area for snacks.

How efficient are your appliances? Choosing a remodeling project that focuses on replacing outdated appliances could save you money. The NKBA notes that dishwashers, disposals, and refrigerators are three essential kitchen appliances that can be energy hogs. By purchasing a low-energy, water-saving dishwasher or one that features the new half-load, delay, or economy cycles could help you to reduce your energy bills.
Remodeling for Sun and Games
Outdoor "living rooms" are in. If you've been yearning to add a deck or patio to your house, having a door that provides access to that space will make it that much more useful for entertaining. In addition to easier access to the outdoors, other reasons to consider a kitchen remodeling project are to bring more of outdoors in by adding additional windows or sky lights to bring light and warmth to your kitchen space.
