Green kitchen cabinets can be eco-friendly and the talk of the town. When you think of how to reface kitchen cabinets, think of reusing furniture and other items to create an eclectic and unique look that will be pure green kitchen cabinets.

Custom Cabinet Doors You Design

You can radically change the look of your whole kitchen just by doing a few stylistic changes. If you have plain, solid cabinets, use pieces of discarded molding or strips of baseboards to trim a box design on the front of your cabinets.

Taking it a step further, substitute chicken wire for glass to give your kitchen a rustic look. Or, just simply take the doors off a section of your cabinets for open shelving. Add some fresh paint inside your exposed cabinets and your friends will wonder what's different as they enjoy the new look.

If you have just boring stock kitchen cabinets, you don't have to replace them. Just dress them up. Instead of using the same knob on every single cabinet door in your kitchen, checkout flea markets, thrift stores and antique shops for a variety of fun knobs. They don't have to match to be beautiful. You'll love the charming look and wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

What if instead of refinishing kitchen cabinets every time they get a nick or a scratch, you decoupauged them instead? Glue on a sea shell or a few buttons to hide the imperfection. As your life progresses, your cabinets will become more and more beautiful.

Decorating can be done in many ways and does not have to follow a strict recipe. Be creative and have some fun. Your neighbors will be green with envy.
